Isn't SHE lovely, isn't SHE wonderful... hum hum humm

My little thumb-sucker. Waving "Hi!"

So lady-like.

Baby Girl's Profile

Yes, we are having a GIRL! She's growing well, and all checks say she is healthy and normal. Praise God! After we found out, her daddy was sitting in the patient room staring at the ceiling, "I'm so excited that we are having a girl!" he said dreamily. (Yes, sometimes Adam says things in a dreamy voice, tho he'd rather you go on believing he doesn't.) So, clearly, the Lord thinks that the Panthers need more fans. I agree. GO PANTHERS!
Yesterday was my 20 week marker. There are more aches and pains, but just as many baby wiggles, so it's worth it. Only a few more months to go!

Fat Feet and One More Week

Yesterday was the 19th week marker. We are making progress. It's getting harder to hide The Bump and harder still to ignore my feet when they get fat and red after a day of shopping. (Gotta prop them suckers up!) This last Sunday I received the most "petting" of the Belly yet. As Eileen said, "Baby Campbell is here!"

One week from tomorrow we find out whether Wombfruit is a Panthers fan (girl) or a Steelers fan (boy)! Now is the time to place your bets...Baby's mommy votes that it's a boy and Daddy 'doesn't have a sense either way'.... so what will it be, ladies and gentlemen?

For the sake of Wee Wombfruit

So, I'm beginning to note that this being pregnant thing really isn't a short little hurrah. I've still got a ways to go. (I'm 15 weeks ya'll) I'm not complaining...hey free baby, right?... i guess it is just all still new to me. (Oh, question to the moms: When do I get to stop buying more clothes? Do you just wear the same 2 "Sunday dress" outfits and 3 pairs of sweatpants week after week? I guess I'm not used to a limited wardrobe.)

Anyways, the baby is doing well...at least I haven't heard any complaints from down there. This Sunday something fun happened. Adam and I were watching the Panthers lose (sigh) and I was (of course) petting my bubble tummy when I felt something different. To my amazement there I could feel the baby's rapid little heartbeat! I told Adam to come see if he could feel it too; the smile that spread across his face confirmed I wasn't imagining it. How cool! I checked my What To Expect When You're Expecting book and it said that if you're slender you can feel the little one earlier than would be typical. Very cool.

Did you know that some of your normal activities and foods aren't safe for you or your baby once you become pregnant? Yep, there are lots of fun dos and don'ts in this season. So, for the sake of my Wee Wombfruit (who is 3 and a half inches now! go buddy!), i shall abstain from:

Running a marathon (oh yeah, i had plans...)

Sniffing insecticides (surprise)

Pointing my toes (wha..?)

Smoking (real bummer that one)

Soaking in the hot tub (a.k.a. "the baby boiler")

Eating fish caught near a major city or industrial plant (duh)

and standing in front of the microwave while it is in operation (evil waves..those ones)

These are all according to my doctor and my books written by doctors. It's good to know that God is really the one in control and the Protector of the wee ones and he is 'fearfully and wonderfully' making my child.

Wombfruit Update and Wacky Pets

W ent to the baby doctor last Tuesday the 23rd. Got to hear one very rapid heartbeat! The nurse said that all the rustling around I was hearing on the monitor was the baby.... surprise!... rustling around. So Wombfruit, as we have come to call Baby, is doing quite a bit of moving about down there and having a lovely time.

Pregnancy Site: "Your fetus is now about three inches long and the size of a peach. Also developing this week: your baby's vocal chords."

Well, I'm out of the first trimester or at least feeling like it. Yeehaw. I'm 13 weeks. Energy hath returned to me and I can cook again! Adam is happy about this news too. (Today I made homemade chicken noodle soup. Care for a taste?)

Big news in Campbellstown: We have a new arrival! Not Wombfruit, thankfully...still a little too shrimpy that one. A little parakeet has joined Bargeory in her tiny barred kingdom. And she's none too thrilled about him. I found him 2 Sundays ago lying in a divot in the parking lot of our apartment. Poor thing was shivering and very weak, but he's made a full recovery. We have named him Jake Leroy Delhomme. We drew names from a jug. Adam wanted to call him El Darno. Thankfully, God is sovereign.

Another pet surprise this past week was Adam's fish Augustine Aurelius getting an internal infection that caused her to swell like she had swallowed a gumball. I'll spare you the details but not the photos. (Coming soon!)

Salvation and Shmall Stuff

Hello all.
This week knees are developing on the little one as well as teeth inside those bitty gums. Wild!

It's fun to have Baby's picture up on the fridge to show all. It's cool as well to pray for our new kiddo...he/ she is really real!! I pray for the Lord to draw this new heart to Him and to give Baby a tender conscience and a love for the Word. Parenting begins!

So, we have a 1 1/2 bedroom apartment (which we love) that fits us pretty well. However, there will be one more of us sooner than we think and we are now realizing how Baby's stuff is already taking up space...that really isn't there. Well, we'll see how long we stay here. Our lease is up 3 months after Squirt arrives, so we'll likely be moving to another apartment (Please, a little bigger one, Lord!) then if not elsewhere. I'm having fun buckling different things into the car seat in the meantime. Adam and i will be conducting crash tests soon. I'll post results.

Ultrasound....ultra cool!

There's our squirt. We got to see the tiny heartbeat on Monday at the doctor. It looked like a flashing tic-tac. According to them, I'm eight weeks along and the bambino's heart rate is good. So, we're a little more than halfway thru the first trimester. (Yay! Gettin' tired of being tired.)

It would appear from the picture that Baby's head has issues. (Admit it. You think my baby is ugly. Hey, I thought so too.) Well, rest assured, because Baby is fine. He/she is sorta bent over, a lot like a cashew, and that's normal.

We won't know until week 20 (end of December) whether we will be having a Panthers fan (girl) or a Steelers fan (boy). Looks like our baby's Christmas present from Heaven will be his/her gender...aww. We do plan on finding out what is given. That will be my next ultrasound.

Oh Baby!

It's true. I'm so very pregnant. And we're both so very excited! Adam is the most I think. He's singing all the time and talking to my tummy telling Baby to be good to Baby's mother. And for the most part he or she is being good. I haven't sick all the time, just some, and so tired. And hungry! I'm 7ish weeks along, we think, so the baby is not very large. Neither am I, see:

And if you're wondering about whether Baby looks like Daddy or Mommy yet.... according to the pregnancy stages website:

5 weeks: "Your baby looks a lot like a tadpole this week, with a rudimentary head and a tail...the size of an orange seed."

7 weeks:"This week, your baby's length is approximately a quarter of an inch — the size of a blueberry. The biggest growth this week is your baby's head, with new brain cells being generated at the rate of 100 cells per minute. This week his or her arm and leg buds begin to sprout and grow longer, dividing into hand, arm, and shoulder segments — and leg, knee, and foot segments (though the limb buds look more like paddles than hands or feet at this early stage).

So, it sounds like Baby is, at this time, taking after his/her daddy with that big noggin. Adam is already calling the child "Tank" or "Tankette." He thinks we will have a chunker. I'm praying for a nice 7 pounder. Ya'll pray too now, ya hear?

Here's a nice shot of the squirt:

One Year... Finally Here!

As of Sept. 3, 2007, Adam and I have been married a whole YEAR!
Praise God. It's been fun. I don't think I have ever been more aware of my sin before or more aware of God's grace for change as much as I have in the past 12 months. Adam is the greatest gift, apart from salvation, that God has ever given me. His wisdom, thoughtfulness, and extreme patience amaze me regularly. How kind of God to show me a picture of His heart for me in the love of my husband. Adam Campbell, you freakin' rock. I'm so blessed to be your wife. I love you.
