'Sup with Dre: 2 Month Stats

2 Month Stats
Length: 24.5in (90%)
Weight: 13 lbs 5oz. (90%)
Head Cir: 41 cm (90%)

Just LOOK at mama's boy! Such a handsome chunker! It was no surprise to Mummzie that at two months he's already in the 90th percentile for everything. (for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, that means 90 percent of 2-month-old boys in the United States have the same measurements as or less than my baby... likely most of them less. ) In the words of every pediatrician he's seen (4 now)..."He's gonna be big." Dre: Of course, I'm gonna be big, daw-lin! I've got to work up to my football weight, don't you know?

Other things he's up to include yelling, screaming happily, and more "outside voice" kinds of exercises.  How else am I gon' be ready to call those plays? Those boys need ta hear me! His eyes follow us around the room and he particularly likes watching his adoring, busy Sissy. We have to keep an eye on him more now as he's been found scooting across the floor or couch  on his back with his super-strong chub legs. Nice of Ma to throw in super-strong there. I know dat's right. Mummzie and Dad are enjoying "little man" more now that he's sleeping 6hrs at night! Hooray for Dre! I prefer 'Yeah, B-OOOOY!'

Beach Week With Our Buddies

Yesterday we got back late from our family vaca on the Outer Banks with your buddies the Taylors.

Eva was much braver with the water this year and loved the waves.

Solomon the Brave chillin'

Elias the Charmer in his "beach cage."

The trip over all was really great, but we did have some bug trouble inside and out. Thanks to hurricane Irene, the mosquitoes were KILLER. We've never seen anything like them! Below is Solo's back where we counted 26 bites from ONE day!

If we weren't inside or close to the ocean they were eating us alive. We called them "Tiger mosquitoes" because of the pain in their bite, their large size, and their stripes. (i'm not kiddin') To get to the beach or the car we would dress in long sleeves and hoodies and wrap the kids completely in blankets and run. I'm sure we looked ridiculous, but it was better than being bug prey! My girl Trish said it well, "This is like living in a horror movie!" Below, Eva has 10 on her face from one trip back from the beach.

Thankfully, the wind and the heat increased during the week, so the bugs were less during the day.

And we all still had fun.

The kids: Solo (2.5yrs), Dre (2mos), Eva (3yrs), and Eli (7mos)

Memories made: Shopping for bad food, scoring The Rug, "No honking allowed,"
"Em's answer is 7inches," Trish sleeping with the lights on, Sharkbate Caleb, more mini storage shows please!, ol' lady and kitty, "there's a roach with the baby formula," trying Duck doughnuts (peanut butter FAIL, everything else was delish tho),  and Eli saying "mama" for the first time (we heard him!).

'Sup with Dre

Hey, it's me, Dre. Here's my latest pic... as you can see, already, at 7 weeks, I'm pretty fly. Too fly maybe, if that's even possible, tho that shouldn't be a surprise to you, my fans. Anyway, I'm obviously a good lookin' kid, but I recently went to my doc and she said I'm putting on some serious weight. Hmm. Mom's delighted with this news, she just LOVES my "chubbywubbywegs" and "wollypollyawms," but I'll be honest with y'all, I'm concerned. I don't know that "jiggle" will go well with my "swagger". Hmm, swiggle? I don't think so. Looking on the bright side, at over 12 pounds, I'm well on my way to hitting my target weight for peewee football.

I've been workin' on my push ups too. Ma says I got some wimpy arms... I says whatever.

Today I did sompthin' new. Mom made this odd face and tickled my chin, I thot it was kinda funny (she tries), and suddenly this weird sound came out of my mouth! Mom said it was a "chuckle," I don't know what it was, but it made that woman go crazy! She was cheesey-smilin', and chatterin' and acting all wack-o. I guess she wanted me to do it again, but I'm not that easily coached. A boy's got a rep to keep, ya know? I think I'll make her work a little harder for the next one now that I know my power.
